What are the benefits of a Lumecca IPL Facial?

Erase sun damage, age spots, and discoloration to reveal overall luminosity and skin tone clarity. Our Lumecca photofacials are a form of intense-pulsed light (IPL) treatment. This light-based technology is a luxurious way to brighten your skin while boosting collagen, diminishing broken capillaries, treating acne, and more. A fairly simple procedure with little to no recovery time, IPL photofacials can be used to treat a wide variety of issues, all the way from rosacea to wrinkles.

Who should get a Lumecca IPL Facial?

Recommended for lighter skin types; inadvisable for sun-tanned or sunburned complexions. Persons taking antibiotics or other photosensitizing medications should not be treated due to contraindications.

How do IPL photofacials work?

Our Lumecca photofacials use exactly what the name suggests: intense pulsed light. Through a handheld device, we deliver a super bright blast of light that penetrates your skin. Don’t worry; you’ll be given protective eyewear to make sure the flashes of light won’t hurt your eyes. Your aesthetician will also apply a cooling gel to your skin before the treatment begins to help ensure your session is both comfortable and effective.

Despite the powerful nature of this treatment, each pulse of light very gently targets deep tissue. The blood vessels and collagen beneath your top layer of skin, or epidermis, will constrict, which will effectively reduce redness, fine lines, and wrinkles while brightening your complexion. You can also say goodbye to large pores and uneven skin textures and say hello to your best skin ever. Photofacials work best on light to medium skin tones.

How often should I get a photofacial?

In order to maximize your results, we recommend receiving treatments in six installments. Three of the sessions are dedicated to correcting the skin, with the subsequent three dedicated to brightening it. We advise a two to four-week gap between sessions, but do not recommend this treatment for those with suntanned or sunburned skin. Because of this, you may want to wait a few weeks before getting your next treatment if you just got back from your beach vacation.

Is there downtime after receiving treatments?

Because there’s almost no damage done to the skin (as with most laser facials), there is little to no recovery time required after your treatment. However, everyone’s different. No two people’s skin is exactly alike, and so everyone’s experience will vary. Most people find that side effects like redness or dark spots fade away in just a few short hours. We always recommend you wear plenty of sunblock and avoid extended exposure to sunlight for a few days after your session. Of course, we also recommend being gentle and taking general care of your skin, as well. The skin on your face is typically your most fragile, and it’s important to treat it with a little TLC before, during, and after treatments.
